I had the pleasure of capturing this couple’s wedding day images. After they got married at the St. John’s Courthouse, I met them in Old Town St. Augustine for a wedding day session. During the session, they radiated so much love and happiness that I couldn’t help but comment on it. They shared that they felt incredibly lucky to have a second chance at love and wanted to celebrate their happily ever after.

Both had been married before and had children. They had always longed for a happy marriage and fulfilling life, but life didn’t always go as planned. They continued their lives separately—Bobby in Warren, Ohio, and Carla in Paraguay. Despite the great distance between them and the unlikelihood of their paths crossing, Carla never lost hope of finding true love. She believed her soulmate was out there, waiting for her, and she was determined to find him, even though she didn’t know his name or what he looked like. Meanwhile, Bobby had lost the desire to start over, though he still hoped to find happiness, not knowing how to achieve it.

Two years ago, from thousands of miles away, Carla decided to come to the US once more in search of the love of her life. Two months later, they met and connected on so many levels that it felt unreal, and they quickly fell deeply in love. Since then, they’ve faced difficult moments, but these challenges have only made their love stronger. Now, they feel truly grateful and blessed to have found each other and to spend the rest of their lives together as soulmates. Bobby proposed on May 31st during a beautiful sunset in Saint Augustine, making Carla the happiest woman on the planet; they got married at the courthouse a month and a half later. They are overjoyed to have found their second chance at love, feeling like teenagers again, because the heart never gets old.
