When the Rain Gave Way to Love | A St. Augustine Wedding at The Bridge of Lions

Some wedding days remind me exactly why I love what I do. The Golub wedding on Sunday, September 7th in St. Augustine was one of those moments where love, timing, and nature came together in the most breathtaking way.

A Rainy Start Turned Into Golden Hour Magic

The day began with rain, and there was uncertainty if the ceremony would happen outside on the balcony. The couple had rented a beautiful home overlooking The Bridge of Lions and historic Old Town St. Augustine, the perfect setting for their intimate vows.

But just as the sun began to set, the skies opened up. What once looked gloomy transformed into a canvas of purple, pink, and gold, casting a romantic glow over the city’s iconic bridge and waterfront.

An Intimate Ceremony Full of Emotion

With only their officiant, Beth Hurewitz, and myself as both photographer and witness, the Golubs promised forever. The bride’s tears during her vows and the groom’s tender hand-holding created a moment so raw and genuine it was impossible not to feel the depth of their connection.

There were no large crowds, no distractions—just two people, their love, and the promise of forever beneath a golden sky.

Capturing Their Story

This intimate wedding was captured with both my GoPro Hero 13 and Canon R6, blending candid video snippets with still photography to create a timeless story of their day. Every frame tells a piece of their journey: the uncertainty of the rain, the joy of the sun breaking through, and the heartfelt emotions that sealed their vows.
